Selection Shown below is a simplified method of selecting a selector switch to meet almost any combination of contact sequences. StepNo. 1 Determine the contact sequence(s) required. Set up a target table like the one shown for the example below. Contact Sequence 0—contact open 1— contact closed A 1 0 0 B 0 1 0 C 0 0 1 StepNo. 2 Look for a cam type common to all sequences in: Table 19.137 2 Position Selector Switch, page 19-53, Table 19.138 3 Position Selector Switch, page 19-53, or Table 19.139 4 Position Selector Switch, page 19-53. For the example above, Table 19.138 3 Position Selector Switch, page 19-53 would be used. ForthecontactsequencesA (1 0 0),B (0 1 0)andC (0 0 1)of the example above, cam types F and L are common to all three sequences. StepNo. 3 Next, use the cam type common to all the sequences (if several cam types are common, choose one) to find the operator type number. If, for the example above, the F cam type is chosen: • Usea9001KA3mountedonsideno.2forsequenceA (1 0 0). • Usea9001KA3mountedonsideno.1forsequenceB (0 1 0). • Use a 9001KA2 mounted on side no. 1 or 2 for sequence C (0 0 1). If, for the example above, the L cam type is chosen: • Usea9001KA2mountedonsideno.2forsequenceA (1 0 0). • Use a 9001KA2 mounted on side no. 1 or a 9001KA3 mounted on sideno.2forsequenceB (0 1 0). • Usea9001KA3mountedonsideno.1forsequenceC (0 0 1).
